Let’s face it; summer is brutal on the vitality of our hair. If you are not worried about your hair drying out from sun exposure, perhaps the humidity affects you more greatly. One thing is certain; all of our hair is adversely affected by warm weather in one way or another. Here, we have provided easy-to-follow tips for repair and prevention.
Who does not love a little fun in the sun, whether it be poolside or at the beach? Yes these are fun activities, but there are downsides for your hair such as split ends, dry hair, loss of vibrancy, excessive frizz, and overall unhealthy hair. Even that cheeky wind can create hair damage. Thankfully, there are many home remedies and over-the-counter products we can use to fix existing issues and prevent future disasters.
Pool swimmers tend to face split ends more so than ocean bathers. Of course, we should all receive regular trims; however, sometimes we are busy and those pesky maintenance regimes go by the wayside. Here are several methods to assist those of you who enjoy swimming in the pool:
• Prior to entering a pool, be certain to wet your hair.
• Use a swim cap.
• Wash and condition after swimming.
• Try an over-the-counter hair mask or make your own.
These pool tips are pertinent any time of the year, not just for the summer months. Going to the beach is another incredible way to spend a hot summer’s day. As a general rule, when spending time in the sun, use a conditioner with SPF. The salt water will dry your hair as easily as chlorine. The simplest preventative method is to use olive oil.
