In the past, bicycles were mainly utilized for transportation. Today, it is not only used as a means for transporting people, but also a means to keep men and women healthy. Still, there are more uses to it.

Going around on a bicycle brings one closer to the community and the environment. When one goes around their subdivision on a bike, they are open to more interactions with the people outside of their houses. Since bicycles do not emit carbon monoxide, they do not destroy our environment. They are an alternative form of transportation that is safe to the environment and cost effective.

Bicycles are easy and simple to operate. Parking a bike does not take a lot of space nor the time to park one. If you are planning to travel just a corner or so from the place you are staying, bicycles come handy.

Because of its safety to the environment, parks and other recreational areas often allow the use of bikes within their area. Passing through parks on bike can save you a lot of time from traffic jams in the city.

If you can just use a bicycle to go to your office on a daily basis, you can surely save a considerable amount.

By not driving your car, you do not have to spend on gasoline (or diesel), brake fluids, machine oils, power steering fluids, coolant and other expenses needed to maintain your car. In addition, you do not have to shell out for toll fees when driving a bicycle.
